The Central Bank of Kosovo (BCK) indicates that the Kosovar diaspora sent 785.06 million euros up to July 2025, an increase of 4.15% compared to the previous year.
The majority of the funds passed through non-bank financial institutions , commercial banks and other channels.

A key pillar of the Kosovar economy
The Kosovar diaspora is now one of the main financial drivers of Kosovo. According to the latest data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (BCRK), remittances exceeded €928 million during the first eight months of 2025, confirming the strategic role of the diaspora in the country's economic stability.
An economy in the development phase
In a context marked by a current account deficit of 742 million euros and a trade deficit exceeding 3.19 billion euros, international financial flows remain essential to support growth and macroeconomic balances in Kosovo.
The services sector, however, recorded significant progress with a positive balance exceeding 1.11 billion euros, while foreign direct investment (FDI) reached more than 540 million euros in 2025.
An international investment dynamic
The growth in FDI, the increase in international assets and the development of financial exchanges demonstrate Kosovo's growing attractiveness to international investors and its diaspora.
